vertical mosaic
evening all
am fixing a beautiful glass mosaic all the way up (vertically) the middle of a shower cubicle.
how would you go about this to get best finish.
would you set out with your vert lines for the mosaic with 2mm extra either side then fix the field tiles first.
or would you fix mosaics first using a laser.
hope you can help , cheers dom

Re: vertical mosaic
Fix the field tiles and then inset mosaic to suit.....
You might have to infill space , so that the mosaics are flush with the filed tiles..if not as thick..

Re: vertical mosaic
only advice i can give on top of that is watch if your using a 3mm trowel for your mosaics and an 8mm for walls it might not be dead flush on altho tiles are same thickness

Re: vertical mosaic
i just spread the adhesive as normal, and tiled as normal just adding the mosaics as i did each line.
cut the glass with a wet cutter is best although i have v=cut them on my dry cutter in the past, watch out for flying glass splinters

Re: vertical mosaic
everbuild flexiplus which is a spf bagged adhesive, used this as it was a large format tile and on plaster/plasterboard and it was supplied, the mosaics were porcelene
beleve it or not that is an ensuite and has ambient lighting with a tv in the shower that turns into a mirror.
one of 3 ensuites and 1 bathroom on the floor.
