    Default Ply?

    Hello Peeps,
Can someone tell me the ideal set up to tile a floor. I want to remove all floorboards as they are a bit c--p. Can I lay 18mm ply directly to joists with loads of screws or should I use other materials instead of/aswell as?

    Cheers

just fix hardi backer boards over the poor floor boards and you are good to go, unless you really want to remove all the floor boards which probably run into any stud walls you may have

Put extra noggins at 300mm intervals....and use a 2 part flexi adhesive or S2 single part...

Mapei keraquick and latex plus is a good combo..

S'pose another option is 12mm ply or tilebacker boards onto the floorboards as long as they as secure.

It sure is and Mapei say you can use thier adhesives for that as well, unlike some other brands that will not.

So thats confidence from Mapei that thier adhesives are upto the job...
