    Default Concrete shower tray

Went to look at re tiling a shower tray today. Apparently, this concrete tray was specially made 30 yrs ago, and is about 1 mtr x 1.2 and the inside is about 4" deep. Mosaic on the base and plain tiles on the 'walls'. The mosaics are in a right mess and want ripping out but customer says when the odd one comes loose it comes out with a 'lump' of black concrete with it. Anybody come across anything like this before?
No shower screen either so they had a 'wet area' long before their time!
