Re: no calls then four in a row?
i think its starting to dawn on people whose jobs are not at risk or those that are retired that they are actually better off than they were this time last year
cost of living is down and theres been a 2.5% decrease in vat
also some people are being canny as they know they will get a better price now than if they wait for things to pick up
believe it or not the early signs of recovery are there it just needs people to realise this and start spending to get things moving again
I know nothing I havent learnt

Re: no calls then four in a row?
There is work out there !!!!
Many threads and posts here about finding work here !!
Never just sit at home waiting for the phone to ring, get in your van or car, call in an pester as many kitchen firms, bathroom firms, plumbers, builders, bar fitting firms, interior designers, architects, contract flooring companies as you can, call in at plumbers merchants and your local hire shop and ask if you can leave cards, do a leaflet drop, hang around B & Q , hand out a few cards, do the same outside tile shops ( or slip a card under cars windscreen wipers )
Keep going and going and going, then start again. If you get 20 knock backs on the trot then 1 or 2 good contacts it has been worthwhile !!!
Work will not always find you ! You have to find it ! Then hang onto it !
BE PRO ACTIVE . BE INVENTIVE. BE CONFIDENT. KEEP SMILING

Re: no calls then four in a row?
ive done quite a few quotes now. did one today. i've won one job this year and that was by knocking 1/3 off my price.
im very proactive; ive written to 120 businesses this year such as property management companies and builders etc and then phoned them all up. i got one job from it worth £100lol. id be out of business if it wasnt for some builders who are supllying me work occassionnally, got a 37ish m2 bathroom to do for them starting next monday
. i got that job by going to a BNI meeting.
half my work now seems to be from recommendations from tile shops and friends etc wheich is great as its free

Re: no calls then four in a row?
is £250 a lot of money for a 3m2 splashback? inc many sockets and some removing old adhesive and reboarding a window reveel
-
-
Re: no calls then four in a row?
wouldn't say so if your removing old tiles and supplying matts,as you say there is plenty of sockets and you will probably struggle to finish in a shift!
probably have to grout the next day!

Re: no calls then four in a row?
