Re: worth it or not?
garretridge,
Forget it mate. Norn Iron aint ready for the worldwide web revolution. Most people get tilers from word of mouth or tile shops. A few from papers used to compare prices.
Id keep the money in my back pocket and put an add in the paper if your down to less than 2 weeks work!

Do you really want to wait for next Nov to advertise in there? You will get a free line entry anyway.....

Re: worth it or not?
I've had Yell, local and national Yellow Pages rep on the phone, can't get a word in edge ways half the time so end up cutting them off! Better to save your cash, like Grumpy says, you get a free listing anyway. I find a fair amount of work through a local mag that gets delivered to all households listing local services, costs about £80 for 3 months covering 6000 homes. BArgain!

Re: worth it or not?
had a few traders comment that it is a waste of time , Try asking round some of the local parish magazines tend to be very cheap and generally once you start work in the area you get asked to quote for family and neighbours

Re: worth it or not?
you would do better to put that money into setting up your own website as a showcase for your work and then spend the time promoting your web address through small ads , leafltets etc
dont bother with yell, waste of time
if it worked they wouldnt need to employ sales to pressure sell , you would be lucky to get 1 call and that would probably the week its delivered and before its put away
the rest of the time its charity calenders , other ad sales people and people looking for employment
if people want work doing now their first point of call is the internet

Re: worth it or not?
Save your money mate, as suggested try local parish magazines,
this may not please everyone, but as you must try all available options have got a free advert whenever I want it in a free local monthly flyer posted into all local letter boxes by our local member of parliament ( was elected with an overwhelming majority )
He is in a certain National Party !!!
Do not wish to discuss my political views, but just to say sieze every available avenue !!
