    Default floor paint

    Hi all, I have got a 8m2 concrete kitchen floor to do in a couple of weeks.
    Floor has floor paint on it .
    Is this OK to tile on ?
    Do I have to prime first , if so what primer ?

    Tiles are ceramic. Cheers Ian

    the problem is, as you know, if you tile this the addy will stick to the paint not the floor and will lift

    priming the surface wont alter this

    so its remove the paint so the addy bonds to the substrate

    i not sure if you could use uncoupling here as the mat still needs to adhere the floor

    dave may be able to advise further on this

    Get a concrete grinder on a angle grinder...............get the paint off.

    Nothing will stick to it properly

    try to use any abrasive methods to remove as much paint as possible, then prime.

    use any abrasive method to remove as much paint as possible. You should give the floor a good clean after this and then apply a primer such as Mapie Primer G or prefferebly whatever primer the adhesive manufacturer reccommends.
