    Default access cover

Hi all. Have been away for a bit - studying for exams. Have missed the banter here! Now that the sun is hesistantly showing its face, I am feeling the need to get on with some tiling.
With my next project, my toilet floor has a wooden access cover which is flush with the concrete floor.
I am wondering how I could tile over it. I read some of the recommendations made by Dave in past forums but they seem a bit complicated for me. Know simpler versions?

    cheers!

Basically you should tile around the manhole cover keeping the lines straight and cut along the lines of the manhole cover.
Uhmm, this sounds really confusing I will post a picture in my album.

The schluter access panel kits are excellent, and if a jobs worth doing its worth doing right! I know they do a wall access kit, not sure about a floor - load bearing kit, if not other manufacturers definatley do hatch access kits for tiling.

Hey girl, how are you?! Was wondering where everyone was. Have an exam on Monday and on Tuesday will start with the tiling. Its been a long time, I may not know how to begin.
How is your work coming on? Remember we are still waiting for the pics. Or have I missed them by not logging on?
    catch up later
    cheers

Hi MG, your work is truly amazing. Whats with the lizard fetish?! I love the glitzy one on the stone. What am I doing on this forum - I am worse than amateur compared to the work produced by you lot.
In my defense being a Jane of all trades makes me an expert at nothing but being a dilettante is quite stimulating!

Thank you, DW! Lizard fetish... no not quite, but I do like the fascinating, colourful gecko a lot, reminds me that sticking with things doesn't have to be boring... and yes I do consider myself a Gill of all trades, Mistress of none , too... it's called being adaptable and that way life always has another challenge on offer

And looking what some of the tilers do on here, I feel just like you. The forum is for us all...

Of course, it is a gecko! Sticking with things makes you an expert and that is not a bad thing. If ever I am coming up that way I must catch up with you and maybe you will show me your creations?! Does you local do a good cocktail?

Need to get some spacers and get started with my own work.
    cheers!
