hi all,i have an outside spiral staircase made out of wrought iron with concrete steps to be tiled coming up,,does anyone have any setting out ideas to help me on this one,,i cant even recall seeing a spiral staircase tiled before never mind do it,,also anyones pics of previous jobs like this would greatly help me,,many tas

i dont but im going back to re price the job on monday as it has changed so ill take some photos and update this thread then,,ill also update the rogues gallery as this house has some of the most interesting tiling ive ever seen lol

seriously tho its not a fire escape,,lol its an old quirky house dates back to 1500s,its sean connerys autobiographists house or one of them,ill post pics of before and after on this one as its gonna be a challenge

Sounds to me like there is going to be an awful lot of cutting and angles to factor in. Could be a nice little earner.....when the weather warms up.....

just be sure to check with somone as to wether it can SAFELY be tiled as it will become a hazard in the wet and icy weather, and if its a fire escape i REALLY WOULDNT tile it! There a possibly regs you should check also!

Non slip mosaics maybe?
Mmm, maybe not if its outside...too much grout to discolour and weather.

thats a point what would be the best way forward regarding tile types and sizes for a tight angled job like this? customer is away choosing tiles but dont want to dissapoint them by sayin they aint suitable what should i suggest any help dudes?

ive seen a spiral staircase tiled before on mtv cribs i wouldnt mind knowing aswell the best way to set the cuts out it should be good learning experience anyway
