A Bit Of Advice Needed
Hi, doing a bathroom floor soon with porcelain tiles and under floor heating, about 5 square meters. The house is quite new and has chipboard flooring.
Normaly i would overlay the floor with 12 mm ply, lay the UFH, self leveling compound, and a fleix adhesive. The customer wants to keep the floor level down so, i was going to make sure the chipboard is screwed dowd solid, lay the UFH, use a flexi leveling compound over the mat,as i use Granfix products, then use Granfix ultimate flex and grout. Firstly will this be ok and second if it is what would be the best levelig compound. Cheers Mick.

Re: A Bit Of Advice Needed
Mick......i'm not a big lover of tiling direct to chipboard.....
If you make sure it is solid then overlay with 6mm hardi backer then lay ufh and level over with mapei fibre plan.....nice strong floor then and no great height increase...

Re: A Bit Of Advice Needed
I've ordered some plastic ply from nicobond today, going to try it on a 4m2 bathroom floor to overlay t&g chipboard next week, after a lenghy discussion with the area rep i've been assured that it's suitable, ill let you know how it goes.

Re: A Bit Of Advice Needed
Not Really keen on using 6mm ply but over this small area might be ok hardibacker seems best option. Cheers
