What van?

I'm in the market for a new small van, had a vauxhall combo, got a astravan at moment, but not really pratical or big enough.
Any thoughts on which is the best new van out there for a independant tiler? and which to steer clear of?

Personnally i use a lwb traffic, but if its a smaller van u r after, u cant go wrong with a connect

out the 2 mate i would personally opt for the scudo

Its probably the better choice because of the size(Wedi,Plasterboard ect)!
but the Connect looks better and when you only have to cart about your Tools,the size is okay. There should be some good deals coming soon!

ya correct mate,i have had a few astra vans in the past and they did me fine,now i use my tried and trusted escort van.copes with everything i throw in it/at it.

I just rememberd, I had an old Fiat Regate and had to cut the Plaster/Wedi board to fit!. So size is not important!2Balls

I have spoken too a couple of guys about ford connect and they both said its absolute crap, gutless and not very economical. Renault traffic and vivaro i hear to many bad reports about them. Ford transit or peugeot expert would be my choice of a new van at the moment. I have a vauxhall combo and the are fantastic vans had mine for 10yrs and today was the first repair i have had to do, i had to fit a water pump.

the ford transit connect seems to be tried and tested?, you see a lot of them in use by british gas, royal mail, council etc

I too had a Fiat Regata weekend (estate) as a family car, long before I started trading.

I had it for 5 years and sold it. Despite the bad press they received, I never had many problems with it. It broke down on us once when the distributor packed up.

I got rid of it because I manage to acquire my dad's old Pug 309 SRi, and enjoyed driving that much more, and didn't need the larger estate car any more, plus the pug was much lower mileage. Had I been trading though I may have been tempted to see if I could have used that rather than going to a panel van.

IMO it was perhaps the most practical estate car there was at that time.
