    Talking 18mm marine ply

    hiya all im new here....

    im taking up all my floor boards in the kitchen area and installing under floor heating, then i will be tiling with 12mm Slate Tiles, can i just screw down 18mm marine ply on the joice or do i need to put back the floor boards and then the marine ply on top..

    Are the joists ok, might be worth putting a few noggins in so you can get a few more screws in. Or is 25 mm an option.

    you could always forget the ply and use a load bearing tile backer board such as hardibacker the websites should be able to guide you and CTD can sell it ,

    Not really suitable for overlaying straight onto joists though keraldine....
