Wetroom or Shower tray/screen
A question to all,had a customer ring me up and ask me to give them a quote for an ensuite shower and pump install, basically went to look and asked if they had some spare tiles to redo the few wall tiles where the old shower valve was to be taken out and the new one to be put in. no, was the reply i got. the customer asked me to give them a quote to do the full job. this was to take the bath out and put a shower cubicle (1700mm) in,tiling/plumbing etc etc. so ive given a quote for everything, parts included from start to finish. customer has agreed and wants me to book them in asap (feb 2009) but has asked if it could be turned in to a wetroom and would it be a lot more money. the shower cubicle/tray is £700. i have done loads of showers and tanking etc etc etc but never done wetrooms ie;tray in floor substrate, membranes etc etc etc just wanting a rough price costing and the best ones out there at the moment, all comments/replys welcomed, cheers in advance John.

Re: Wetroom or Shower tray/screen
Send a PM to member wetdec or have a look on his website, Wetdecs wet room supplier, wet room shower tray, tanking. waterproofing from leading wetroom company.
he'll be able to give you a guide of what you need, how much it will cost and how to install it.

Re: Wetroom or Shower tray/screen
Hi, You could use Wedi for the shower tray, Kerdi for the walls, Ditra for the floor.

Re: Wetroom or Shower tray/screen
John
Have a good look at Wetdeck's site. Oli's already given you the link I believe.
It all depends on what the floor is. I fitted a Tilux into a concrete floor recently but there are other options for wooden floors.
You'll probably find that by going via his site you'll end up paying around the same price that you would going for the shower option, but that more work will be needed, so the customer will pay more.
The Wetroom section of this forum has loads of info. I've also posted my experiences of fitting the Tilux former over there if that's relevent to you.
As someone who had never fitted a wetroom before the only advice I can give you is take your time and don't assume anything. I actually spent more time on this part of the job than I am going to invoice the customer for because I wanted to learn by doing this at a pace that was comfortable for me. I still cocked it up because I thought I knew better, but managed to salvage the situation.
I would have thought that going onto wooden floor would be easier, but I just don't know.

Re: Wetroom or Shower tray/screen
alter the flow sensor so that the pump starts working when the shower has been runing for whatever the time is supposed to be instead of 5mins

Re: Wetroom or Shower tray/screen
Ah right with you, the sensor picks up on the cold feed so as long as this runs the pump should......... will check it out for you m8
