You can get the makita drill with 3 batts from screwfix for £97.00.......
Makita 8391DWPE3 18V Combi Drill - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys
not sure if you get the drills bits with that 1 though so its still a good deal

B and Q have a cracking deal on at the moment, two makita drills, ( one combi, one drill driver) 2 batterys, 1 charger in a plastic moulded carry case all for £98 inc vat
Bought myself 4 cases, 2 weeks ago for the plastering training centre and they are excellent

I would rather have 1 extra battery than a drill bit selection...but both good deals..

OOOPS just saw the first post from Craig, anyway youve just heard it again, get yoursef to B and Q
I use the ryobi one system wich i find great, but makita is awsome stuff and when srcewfix/B&Q have got them on offer its a bonus.

I bought a ryobi drill once, accidently droped it and broke it straight away, the thing got stuck in forward gear, the makitas you can bounce them all over the place and still be sure its gonna work, you get what you pay for
I got a Bosch 24v from b&q a while back with spare battery £97 goes straight through brick/stone no problem.

Ive got one of the 18v makita drills with three batterys, its excellent, they must have been on offer for ages at screwfix cos i paid £99 four + months ago.![]()
I use and abuse my ryobi stuff and its not let me down yet (touch wood) infact i use my combi drill to mix addy up not all the time or big full 25kg bags (i`ve got a large mixer for big stuff) but if i`m only using half a bag for small job,![]()

Sounds like there are some good deals going, I paid £280 for my 18 V Makita 3 years ago![]()
there are "18v makitas and there are 18v makitas"and i would bet money that a £280 drill is bettter than a £100 drill, all drill manufacturers do many versions of a given voltage, its all down to what you are going to use the drill for, imo, that said as Craig points out it is a good deal an thx for sharing it wit the forum as i am sure there are many on here who would not think to link B&Q with good deals(me included).
I also agree with BDS and think ryobi are good quality, maybe darren is a bit heavy handedlol.
ps. if any one is interested in a 24v hilti,2 batts, ect,i have one for sale![]()
Im going to try and get the offer Darrens taking about, nothing on the B and Q website though, hope i've not missed it.
Are they really good enough quality for pro use though as its normally you get what you pay for"
The company I work for supplies us with 18v Makitas. I generally get through one every 6 months but they are very heavily used. Last time round I got them to get me the drill driver rather than the hammer drill so I wouldn't be tempted to use it instead of getting the Cordless SDS out. This one looks like lasting better.
It's horses for courses really. If you get the drill and start using it for loads of masonry drilling it's not going to last. Use it mainly on rotary only and don't overload it and it should be fine.
Mike
I've had the makita from Screwfix for around 15 months now. It tends to get used for screwdriving, though it will drill masonery holes using good quality universal bits (Irwin or Bosch). Havins said that I don't use the hammer setting in anger, and its for light use - I wouldn't attach a core drill to it![]()
The Screwfix deal is 18v

i bought the screwfix 99 quid deal makita with 3 batteries its 18v.....however i use it for mixing addy and it gets far too hot ,basically i can see it getting burnt out using it for this
