Moving Large Cooker Oven range thingy..
Now then, I'm on my tod on Monday and I have to move one of those wide heavy cooker ranges NOT an AGA or any thing like that, but they are a modern unit about twice as wide as they need to be.
Now, am I to just lean it back and hop it has wheels or bend the feet, or is there a sort of skate-board high truck I could use.
Anyone had any experience of these?
Cheers

Re: Moving Large Cooker Oven range thingy..
From my experience, there will be wheels at the back so tip and pull. Don't lift by the handles, though, as you don't want to damage them; open a door and lift from inside the grill or an oven.
If the customer is home, ask him / her to assist???

Re: Moving Large Cooker Oven range thingy..
I've fitted a few over the years and the expensive models have wheels built in. One even had a lever that lowered the wheels for ease of moving.
The cheaper models just have legs. Be very wary of these as the plate that the legs is attached to is only thin. One I was asked to connect had the legs bent all over the place. I had to make up strengthening plates before I could fit it.

can you not get a mate to give you a lift, don't want to risk putting your back out and being laid up over crimbo

The first paragraph of my terms & conditions says!
" Whilst we have full liability insurance we are not covered for removal of furniture or ornaments. All rooms have to be clear " Now whilst I understand the problem in kitchens I would offer to assist but under the customers direction after they signed my T & C's.
