Default best adhesive to use above a working oven

doing a brand new house this week, and they have asked me to tile around the boxed area of their cooker. There is basically a wall immediately behind the cooker/stove/hot plates and the two walls which make the cooker concealed.

As it is a brand new house with new flush plasterboard up, i was just double checking that bal tubbed ady would be fine to use. Just a bit unsure as wether the fact the heat from the oven would effect this or my choice in grout?

thanks for your help in advance, just wanted to avoid an error on something that would be so simple.

It will be fine Spenny, make sure you have a good flexy grout though. Which tubbed stuff you going to use? BAL is good up to 100 deg C.

i usually go for bal tubed ady, i think its usually the best to work with and easyily available at topps. Green star i normally opt for. I will probably just use bal flexible grout. Will silicone still be alright to use?

Tiled an entire cooker hood using silicone once...brilliant stuff, I use it as instant gasket on the Bonneville, no problem with heat.

Yes, Doug, as an adhesive, this thing was above a hotplate in a PUB on the East Lancs Road, and got raging hot..This was before Bal 2 part flex by the way..And we tried everything on test before the place opened, but everything failed as the hood got up to temp.So we removed the hood, and stuck the 100x100 tiles on using silicone, as a last resort to be honest.
They never moved. If you imagine how hard it can be to get off a shiny impervious surface like a bath..We were more concerned that the back of the tile might be more of a problem..
I went for a job with Dow Corning once and had to find out what silicone was invented for...You'd never guess??

Well, I'm only repeating what the Dow boys told me...
But they said it was developed for the Space program and used to plug leaks in early space craft. As was dispensed in a skeleton gun and heavy enough and sticky enough to go where they wanted in zero gravity.
Not alot of people know that..
