Hi, just had a nosey, and it all looks fine, and well done for creating your own website, exciting isn't it...?

    Feedback?

Thought you should know that on my screen using internet explorer (100% screen view size) your phone numbers overlap each other on two pages, so are hard to read as if the line spacing wasn't quite sorted. The moving of positions between different browsers etc is quite common - perhaps your programm has got a help section where it explains how you can make sure it doesn't happen anywhee else?

Also I'd get rid of the big 'HOME' word on your home page, on my screen it's on the left of the grey bar and looks HUGE and unnecessary as you only have a few pages. AND, I'd change the font from comic sans or similar to a more 'expensive, 'serious' business minded looking font, CS comes across as friendly which I am sure you wanted to achieve, but a bit too much as if you weren't taking your business seriously, which obviously you are judging by your values and your work pictured.

Alrighty..that's it. Hope you're not sorry now you asked...

You're welcome, Burncross, marketing is hubby's middle name and after a long time of resistance I realize that he is right, websites are most likely the first impression / point of contact between potential customers and you now. God, I sound like hubby...

I think it looks good, well done!

    My only comments are:

    1. I would change "I hope these values represent what your looking for." to "I'm sure, along with quality, these are values that you look for when selecting a tradesman." Please note that if you keep your current wording, you should change "your" to "you're".

    2. I would think about adding some keywords in your header file to assist promotion through search engines, too. (<meta name="Keywords" content="Insert words here" />)

Looks good. Dont forget to add your metatags in the header (checked and they are missing) so that the search engines can find you. Also try to get links into it to improve your listings.
Doing a website is step one. (Congrats it looks great)
Getting it noticed is step two!

If you add the url to a business card then your potential customers can see your work so its a good !

Also get yourself listed on Free Index CLICK THIS LINK and link it to your site. Its a great way to get ahead in rankings.

And finally (sorry to go on...) write in the third person. The link above will give you some idea of how to do it. If you sign up to Free Index they provide a template. Remember the engines are looking for wordy content.

cheers for all the advise guys, i am going to make a few adjustments to the things you've said.
The site cost £19.95, for a full year with domain name and everything, after a year it cost about £1.60 a month. I did by myself, not bad for a first attempt, and i am a bit of a numpty when it comes to computers!
    it was from www.mrsite.co.uk
