Default Repairing Tile layed on UFH

    Hey guys,

Got a tricky little job to tackle tomoro!! Customer has had a floor tile crack (9mm ceramic I think) whilst having a new kitchen installed, so wants it replacing!! Easy so far!!

Trouble is, theres a warm-up electric matting system beneath it... usual installation from what they've told me, insulation board, matting, adhesive, tile. The tile typically is smack bang in the middle off the kitchen floor too !!

Any of you guys tackled this problem before?? Or do you know of any tricks for getting the tile up without A. Damaging surrounding tiles and B. Damaging the UFH mat??

    Cheers

    Steve.

I would use my makita cordless with water bottle and set the depth of the blade just below the depth of the tile and do many cuts, Then with caution try and remove the peices of tile. I would test the ufh before refitting the new tile

Good advice, or if you have a fein multi, again set the depth to the thickness of the tile and go around the grout line, if the tile as cracked chances are its not bedded to well in the first place, and may come up quite easily good luck
