ufh on to existing tiles
I am quoting for a kitchen floor job where they want ufh onto old tiles then new tiles above. Should I lay insulation board first to keep heat in? How do i fix the boards? Adhesive? Worried of raising floor height too much.

Hi Fred
1st post, welcome to the forum!
I think Dave's right. The old tiles should really be lifted first. I would be interested to know what the substrait is underneath.
Assuming it's concrete with screed then a floor scraper can be used to remove old adhesive.

I suspect that the customer has been told that you can tile over tiles and it will save you money, but hasn't thought about the implications of this approach.
