oooer missus,,hi mate id be inclined to ask a more experienced tiler to go halfers on that one,,it will give you a lot of knowledge working a job like that with a more experienced tiler and give you money also,,i wouldnt tackle a swimming pool on my own at the moment personally but its up to you,you may be confident enough to go for it good luck

You don't want to use crap materials when doing pools.

MAPEI Adesilex P10 with admix is what I'd use. It's designed specifically for mosaics.
I'd use Mapei Ultracolour Plus to grout.

I agree with kilty, If you mess this up could knock your confidence for years and any further work you may get from your brother in law. Speak to an experianced tiler and explain the situation, If it only means you being number 2 your'll learn stacks

I kind of agree with the others on it being a good idea to get some help, but most of all, I'd recommend that you get proper tools for working with mosaics. Get one of these and you won't get nearly as frustrated when cutting the mosaics.

Use 3x3mm or 4x4mm notched trowels for adhesive, depending on mosaics size and thickness, and a grout float to "clap" the tiles when fixing them to ensure the mosaics are lippage free.

    Good luck

you ve landed quite lucky there with a pool but without a doubt i would not tackle that on your own even if your labouring for a more experienced tiler for experience then that can only be a plus

I jumped in at the deep end and tiled my parents' pool in Spain (with my Dad's help) in spring this year. Stayed out there 10 weeks in the end and did a neighbours pool too. Was a great experience especially as I played all day (too hot to fix) and started work about 7 in evening till 11 each night.
I'd say go for it and enjoy it. I'm glad I used a laser to get the levels around the top of the pool as they need to be absolutely spot on - flat water will show up any deviations.
