    Default Polished marble

Never done polished marble before. So is it the same as polished porcelain? lay tiles , grout , then use lithofin FZ to seal and buff up ? or is it seal with stainstop before grout and after. Tiles are mottled grey apperance so i presume grout will be on the dark side. I cut the tiles dry with nd 200. going on concrete screeded floor. was going to slc? dont know what difference that will make
    Thanks

Groucho, make sure your floor is flat. Polished and beveled stone is unforgiving of un-flat surfaces. Seal before grouting and you should be fine. Just a word of caution and I am sure you have figured this out already but marble is really soft stuff and scratches very easily. Also, if you need to lift a tile for any reason during the fixing, be very careful as they break very easily. Oh! Lithofin Stainstop MN is what I used.

Could you get around this if you sealed the tiles the night before? I'm assuming the stain is just because you seal over the water and it can't get out!?! Please correct me if i'm wrong.

When you wet cut marble, you will be opening up new un-sealed edges. Water can penetrate via the edges. Sealing the night before would protect the top surface but would do nothing to stop water getting in while cutting.

Wet cutting imo will not stain polished marble.....some limestones are prone to water staining but never had a problem with marble....

I lay them ...leave to dry then grout.....wash etc leave to dry.....buff them nice and clean and then seal......lot easier and quicker......

here's one i did a few weeks back...

I wet cut marble too Dave, and, same as you, I let it dry before grouting.
