A little tip from me.
Yesterday i arrived on a new job. Big house, 2 bathrooms fully tiled, floors too with UFH. I got all my gear into a room next to bathrooms and a clean bucket of water into the bathroom. There was nothing in the bath except the protective plastic and dust. So i cleaned out the bath as i always do. The plastic in areas was damaged so i looked closer. 4 bad marks in the bath !! Luckily the builder was there and he knew i had only just arrived and hadnt done any work in the bathroom as yet. I showed him the marks and he hit the roof, not a happy bunny ! but had i not cleaned the bath and found the marks....who would have got the blame?
Always check these things and dont put yourself into an awkward position.

Re: A little tip from me.
been there ,done it, etc etc, when i worked on sites the tiler always got the blame for scratched baths and shower trays , i used to watch other trades , clumpin about on them dropping screws and whatever not giving a jot. so good advice from sirz, always give the wares a once over before starting..

Re: A little tip from me.
Sorry 'bout the typo..
I knew a tiler called Michael B.
he chipped a corner bath, stanley knifed out the blemish ( pared shiney ), then realized the bath was a matt finish. Not preturbed, he purchased wet and dry sheets from Wickes...then polished the whole bath...finished with 'T-Cut'. The customer payed him his labour that evening, after glancing around the room..with a tiler in his way....

Re: A little tip from me.
always get my henry in first,(with soft brush head) have a clean out and check for damage and always put a sheet of ply over bath, because one day I didn't and you've guessed it, juggled a tile and it went right through bath bottom, cost me £170.00

Re: A little tip from me.
Nice 1 mate, well done,i fell into that trap about 1 yr ago, tiled the bathroom for a guy, when i got there the complete bathroom suite was covered in sheets, with all the edges upto the walls taped up,finished tiling, went home, went back next day to grout and lo and behold all the tape and sheets had been taken off,the guy pointed out 2 scrapes and a chip out the corner of the bath, said i was to blame. He actually tried to deduct the price of a new bath, plus plumbers labour. In the end i supplied and fitted a new bath for him at my expense. Now i ALWAYS check any bathroom fitting, covered or not.So you were CORRECT to do what you done and clean the bath
