Default Can I get a price check on a job cheers

Hi folks wandering if I can get a price check on a job, its:

The removal of probably no more than 8m2 tiles then the fitting of new tiles in a large shop entrance.

The jobs for a brother who manages the store for someone else.

Not sure which tiles will be laid but if you based it on ceramic ho mutch would you charge?

my normal rate is £11.50 m2 (northern Ireland rates) but its the removal an cleaning up of the surface that im not sure of.

    Thanks for any advice.

£11.50 /m2 for tiling ?? i was getting more than 15 years ago, you will need someone from northern ireland to give you a quote .. for lifting the tiles you should quote for a days work , as you might have to patch or screed floor ..

    Akhter,
11.50 is low, far too low in my book. Im from just outside Belfast and dont make a difference for ceramic or porcelain. Infact anyone wanting to put ceramics onto a high foot traffic floor like your job i guide them towards porcelain. My usual rate is 20 quid a m2, drop it a bit if its close to home or a mate. Charge 30 odd for jobs that are a pain and dayrate of between 100-150 for jobs that are hard to price.

Hope that helps, i wouldnt bother getting out of bed for less than 15 a m2, let someone else do it. I priced a new house the other week, came in just below 20 quid (job was 200 m2). They already had a quote for 12.50m2. I just laughed when they asked me to match it. I wished them all the best and walked out laughing!!

    Cheers brian c

    Hi Davy G
Im from Tyrone and I think tilers are keeping prices low about here to pull in the work but then undercutting each other believe it or not ive quoted jobs at that price m2 and didnt get them before.

Yip ceramic wont take the bashing in a public area im using ceramic price as a baseline figure but ive still to check the job out but its for the bro.

Im only getting started at the tiling properly after my first few jobs and a while away from it.
Be nice to see the work and funds come in at the belfast prices
Is the work still comeing in about belfast think its about all gone around here with the economy ant all?

Thanks for the input mutch appreciated.

You will want to do a bit of health and safety when taking up or after taking up the old tiles, If the shop will be used while your working there
