Trustatrader advert
Hi guys, just after a little bit of advice.
Are any of you advertising with trustatrader.com and what kind of response have you had.
I have spoken to a couple of people who are advertising with them, but none of them are tilers or tiling companies.
I have been in the business for over 15 years but I still haven't found an ideal advertising medium which keeps the phone ringing 24/7.
could this be the one........?

Re: Trustatrader advert
You have to be careful, a lot of these comps are only after your hard earned cash and egt little or no return for it....
so tread carefully i say..

Re: Trustatrader advert
In my opioion your only paying money to these companies for some 1 to sit on their backside and do nothing. You'd be better putting your money into new trainers and go a long walk delivering leaflets and go round all the uaual suspects shop wise

myhammer.com.......people post jobs and what they expect to pay.The jobs advertised for lets say a week. You can ask questions about the job,ask to view the job if you want. You leave a quote on the information given and the customer picks the quote that suits him best when the advertisment runs out.

Re: Trustatrader advert
Trustatrader have appeared to have invested quite large budgets on a series of FM radio campaigns designed to generate opportunities for their members; so there is definately a positive intent to create a return for the initial membership fee - and I believe they can even track customer interest which probably makes it one of the few "advertising" slots where you can find out how effective it actually is.
With the vetting procedures they implement before membership is complete (they have been known to actually turn traders away) and their profile they have created has ensured many customers use this website as the first point of contact when they need trustworthy traders - this website works.

Textbook reply there. Clearly a company employee.
There are a lot of these websites, they all work a bit differently. But one has to work out where they get their advertising budget from, it'll be the customer, or the tiler.
I think the tiler and the customer would save a few quid going through the normal routes to point-of-contact. So business cards, leaflets, website, knowing a shop or two that recommend you, and your local rag.
Checkout the threads in the Arms about marketing. You'll find a lot to read in there.

Sorry, this sounds well dodgy to me. Only one post on this site by someone we don't know and he's bigging up a company that is under discussion by the regular members here.
1) I'm sure Dan, the site owner, would be happy to discuss terms with him need to advertise his business that serves tilers.
2) I suspect it's likely that this individual spends his time doing google serches for discussions on companies he wants to comment on and joins the relevent forums to do so.
Sorry, it just doesn't figure that this is a genuine post. One more reason to avoid me thinks.

Re: Trustatrader advert
I think it's them that are threatening with solicitor action about a comment made by a member on electriciansforums which states something or other. That too could be seen as an act of desperation in my opinion.
I'd certainly not sign up with them if I was a tiler.
