    hi steve
personally I would seal the tiles first, but there will be tilers out there who will seal after fixing, I feel that sealing first will stop any accidents staining the tiles. I'm just away to do a kitchen in travertine and I'll be sealing first.

customer has still to get the thermal board so will ask him to get screws and washers. Can you stick the thermal board to ply with adhesive using say mosaic trowel 3mm. Just a thought ?????

It all depends on the type of trav you are fixing. Personally I only seal them after grouting no matter what type. If you are fixing unfilled trav then only seal them after grouting otherwise the grout won't adhere to the holes in the trav.

Go with the spec on the sealer tin, the one I use takes fours hours to dry between sealing.
