Hi, all I will be getting made redundant in march next year and there is a chance the government will be providing money for courses .
I have been tiling part time for a year now after doing a short course at How2tile in Grangemouth and have done good few jobs now also booked up to December . Although I feel confident in what I am doing I would not call myself a expert buy any means.
I was wondering if a more in depth tiling course would be beneficial but don't really want to start with the basics again or do you think a short plumbing course would be more helpful enabling me to remove toilet pans and the like myself rather than trying to work round a plumbers time scale.
Thanks for any input. Ian

Re: what course
Hi There
Like yourself i did a bit of tiling here and there for a while and decided to go at it full time, i went and did a six week intensive course at able skills in dartford, it did start right from the basics but you can tailor the courses to what you require. in that six weeks i am fully confident and have a reasonable speed to take on any installation. the tuition is excellent and its also good value for money. take a look at www.ableskills.co.uk an give them a bell they are very helpful it was a well spent 2295 quid on my behalf. highly reccommended.
good luck

Re: what course
There are some great price deals about at the moment. Would your current employer let you escape prior to March 09 ? Or do you have to stay at work.

There is no chance of my work letting me go on any course before my finish date.
What do you think though an other more in depth tiling course or a short plumbing course ??
