travertine
Hi shortly going to tile out my new wetroom fllor and walls with travertine honed and filled. being the first time ive used these i have a few questions.
1 im laying an underfloor heating mat woild you lay self leveling compound over the mat before tiling?
2 can anyone reccomend a good waterproof adhisive grout for a wet room.
3 would you seal the tiles before laying or leave until after also a good sealer for these.
4 having to cut around a fan went and for plumbing pipes would standard hole cores be ok for these. hope someone can help done lots of tiling before but noy in a place like this and with these tiles.

- I would personally to help get a flat floor and avoid cable damage if you should need to lift any tiles.

- Use a white cement based flexible adhesive such as BAL single part flexible. Grout is not waterproof unless you use epoxy, then you are in a whole different territory....(don't use adhesive and grout in one - DIY nightmare!)
3 would you seal the tiles before laying or leave until after also a good sealer for these.
- I would seal once before grouting, work cleanly, and seal again as many times as required after grouting. My preference is for non-shiny sealants, I like FILA for travertine but many on here have their own favourites.

- Not sure what you mean by standard cores. Trav is pretty soft stuff. Decent cores = decent holes though!

Hope this helps!
