This is a very handy tool to have.......

    Gundlach 100 mm Scraper

This has to be one of my most favourite tools. Do not confuse it with the £1.99 market stall equivalents

100 mm wide blade, 300 mm overall length

    Heavy duty cast alloy head

    Made in the USA

Perfect for scraping and shaving off bumpy plaster or cleaning the back of tiles with old adhesive on.

Use for stripping up old vinyl tiles and cushion flooring

Insert between tiles to lever them apart (inserting spacers) with ZERO risk of chipping

Great for removing factory wax from wall tiles etc

Quality high grip silicone rubber handle. made in the USA

    A must have tool

I used an old chisel the other day. It was sharp enough for this job but not quite for joinery.

If you can't get one of these in a hurry you could go down to the DIY store and buy a cheap wide chisel. It may not be as good but it's an idea.

Hmmm if it is that hard I fear you are looking at spending some money. Maybe better to take away the old plaster too and dot and dab new plasterboard up. Would certainly be quicker in the long run methinks.

sounds daft but try wetting it as something thats made with water is not waterproof!! if it was powdered adhesive that is, might just make it a bit softer, but like the other guys you cant beat a scraper and plenty of elbow grease!! or for the rougher approach the old SDS drill trail and error really!!

Many Many Thanks to you all for your help and advise on my very hard adhesive problem.. In the end i went with Boosha's advise and went with the steamer and scraper idea a bit messy but i worked... And the wall is still standing
