Ply in shower
Hi all. Just got back from a 2 wk holiday in the caribbean so back to reality!!
Been out to a quote where the guy has removed the old tiles from a shower cubicle and he has plywood as the background to fix onto. I wasn't too happy about retiling over ply or maybe it would be ok? What would you guys recommend? Cheers Ross

Re: Ply in shower
In my oppinion if its a shower cubicle/area it shoud not be tiled at all if there`s no form of tanking/water proofing i`ve seen so many shower cubicles/area`s fail and have to be ripped out completely including substrate to be tiled on and redone at more expense to the customer but thats my only oppinion and how i do all my shower area jobs.

Re: Ply in shower
whitebeam i wouldn`t want to eat em,i`ve told customer the same advice but as you can appreciate the amount of times its been done wrongly and the expense they`re a little pead off to say the least it gives us who do care about doing the job right a bad name and get tared with the same brush sometimes until you do the work properly and use the right products correctly.
