Default Thicker bed? self level or what?

Hey just checked the forum but could'nt find any threads to help. Just looked at a job there, new build,20m2, porcelain tiles put down on a concrete floor. problem is the concrete floor is quite rough. guy said it rained when they poured it. it has about 5 lines going length and breadth where they had used the straight edge to screed/level it. checked the height of the lines with a straight edge and they are between 5 - 10 mil. The surface is rough and would have to use a thicker bed trowel if i wasnt self levelling. Is it best to use a thicker bed trowel say 15 20 mil trowel and just go thinner on the line high area's or would it be better to level through the whole lot with latex compound? trying to save the guy some money here, thanks guys hope you have some advice

I'd prime & SLC the lot, don't be worried about saving the man money, do it right IMO.

I agree here...SLC will be cheaper than using bag after bag of PTB adhesive...

And why do you say latex leveller....concrete floor you say...?
