tile on tile
got bathroom to do, client wants me to tile on tile, rather than pull tiles of wall, tiles and wall seem to be in good condition, she just does not like them. tiles on the wall at present are glazed cerimic. Planning to clean and score the tiles on the wall, then use a primer on them. Bearing that in mind what would be a good cleaning pruduct for the job and what would be best tool to use to score the tiles or should it be done differently.

Re: tile on tile
sugar soap to clean tiles, make sure you use adhesive with a strong grip and watch for weight ratios.

Re: tile on tile
Removing the tiles is the best option here.....but to tile onto glazed tiles you have to use a highly flexible adesive, not just any old adhesive will do.....a cement based adhesive with a liquid polymor additive will be best...

Re: tile on tile
yes the best solution is to remove tiles but obviously on this occasion the customer wants tile on tile so you had better use a reputable flexi adhesive as the guys say above.

BAL Mosaic fix is great for fixing onto glazed tiles. Lovely long bucket life too.
It's a good idea to sugar soap the old tiles, and skim a thin slurry coat onto the old tiles, allowing to dry before starting fixing.
