Get all tour cbinets fixed to the walls first and then tile - makes for better fixing

You could do it either way...but the units are normally fixed first...

Really depends on customer preference but it is normal to fit units first and tile to them. However, in process of doing exactly the opposite as customer wants it tiling first before fitting units just in case in future, they want to remove the units then the walls behind will be tiled

Thats interesting...I thought it was the other way round... I have just tiled a bathroom and then fixed the cabinets on to avoid having to cut around them but I thought this was the way it was supposed to be done
I did gut and completely rebuild it first and its quite a small bathroom and the tiles are very big!

It really depends on the type of units as well tina.....some are just made in-situ and no point tiling behind if they are a fixed item..but then you have these custom made ones with no plinths etc...then i would tile behind...

its a case of choice and my choice would be to tile behind then fit cabinets.

Yes dave these were custom made so I guess I did the right thing also the tiles were very big (600 by 300) and very small room so tiling around furniture would've been a nightmare
    I feel better
