i dont have one yet but they are worth having. It does cost a few quid to set up at first though.

I have one, get most of my work from it
Seriously,
It could be a great way to show off your work.
When you give a quote, or even just a business card, to a customer have your web address on there. Make sure you have some really nice pictures of your past jobs. I think it would give you a very competitive advantage over another cheaper tiler who has nothing or just a simple name and address website that Yell.com rip you off for![]()

BTW there is no reason why a simple, but good enough, '.co.uk' web site should cost no more than £20 to set up and £15 a year to maintain (If you are able to do a bit yourself - nothing too technical)
Guys
I am a newbie, just finishing my first job, but I got my cards and run my website through Vistaprint. Its quite limited but see what you think.

Would'nt know where to start, Never bothered taking any photo's. I hear Dave of tt has got a few good one's![]()

once you buy the domain name i don't think it's that dear to maintain especially when your neighbour sets everything up for you
She told me a site to go to to check prices of names and availability.I'll get the name again if anyone s interested and doesn't no were to look.
sure their must be a few web sites to check tho

I'm in the process of setting up my website.
I've got my domain names from Domain name registration from 123-reg The price for the domain depends on what domain extension you want ie. .co.uk or .com etc.
They can do the hosting for you as well but if you've got web space with your Internet Service Provider you could always use that and just set up domain forwarding.

Word of warning! Vista print are the marketing equivalent of the Reader's Digest!! You will be receive emails every day for the rest of your life! Good cheap way of getting started though.
any info on where to get domain names and website desginers that you guys use would be helpfull
thx guys![]()

YES!
Websites are worth it for any company - large or small. Plus its best to get an indentity. IE company logo and name. Something catchy. And keep everything the same and simple.

How much does that work out at a standard price and does it produce the returns Dave
"Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes"

Prices need to be confirmed by untoldmedia....as for getting work/returns, if they do your SEO work as well then it will get you well ranked in your area's...
I rank 1st/ 2nd / 3rd And 10th in google and thats managed by SEO work by untoldmedia.

<meta name="description" content="Clark & Wilson. All Types of Quality Tiling and Underfloor Heating Work. Construction & Trades">
<meta name="keywords" content="Clark & Wilson, Construction & Trades">
Meta tags should also reflect what people will type in to search for you!

thx for all the info guys i think im going to have ago![]()
in view of all the above regarding web pages etc has anyone tried (as much as i hate to say it!!) micro$fts "frontpage express"
its a proggy to help you do your own web pages.
i used it to set up a couple of ideas i had a few years back and found it very easy to use!! it walks you through the whole process.
i was using my web space provided by my ISP!!
what 365drills mentioned up above is quite important re the meta tags!
the more you put in the better i found!
