Not PVA it is not suitable for tiling use an acrylic primer

No pva you don't need it and yes you can tile directly onto plasterboard, What addy are you using

Don't know yet wife not chosen tiles but probably 600*300 porcelain

I'd use mapei Keraflex, Will last hours in the bucket when mixed. Your plasterboard will take 32kg m2 and your tiles will be just about on the weight limit at 12mm thick
