A builder on tv who was doing some work for a coustomer was made to sign a contract. The builder played them up and was taken to judicator. The customer had written a couple of words wrong in the contract and the builder won the case.

Ok, no guarantee?

As a fixer mrbob...verbal guarantee's usually suffice along with liability insurance cover...
Most contracts i have stipulate you have to have liability insurance...![]()
Hi Mr Bob, it might be an idea to ask your contractor what he wants to see in the written guarrantee..you could end up putting stuff in it that is not needed..definately worth getting is checked by a solicitor before submitting it...
As Daveyboy says, find out exactly what he wants to be guaranteed, are the materials stipulated up to scratch etc....Mark.

If he wanted a guarantee, id want a few off him first. Sounds like he has had a few dodgy contractors before. He needs to guarantee his plasterers, joiners and plumbers work is to spec to allow you to do yours!!
Walk away would be my thoughts ont his one!
