    Default tiling a kitchen

I know most people when tiling a kitchen tend to just do splashbacks, but are there many of you who tile a whole kitchen and which do you prefer a whole kitchen tiled or just a splashback?

Ive had a few clients want all round windows done, above pelmets and units etc. It was a pain and slow going above the units!
In my opinion i wouldnt do any more than a splashback on mine, as long as it plastered well and good paint job on the rest looks well.

Only tiled 1 full kitchen up around wall units etc. Real pain in the 'arris if you ask me. First 3 walls only had 12 full tiles, all the rest were cuts!

Next time I am asked to do a full kitchen like that, it will be priced at a premium!

Yeah I agree with grumps on this one. Tiling throughout is a right pain in the a**e!! She was a funny old dear though and I couldn't convince her otherwise. She thought it would be easier to clean if it was all tiled. I would rather not do a fully tiled kitchen again and bump the price up considerably!

when pricing for a full kitchen, you must take into accout how long it will take and also how much time and effort is going to be spent cutting.Personally if i am asked to do a full kitchen,i work out roughly the time i will spend on cuts, the time fixing and cleaning, then add a half day,but my cost goes up from £25 per metre to £30 per metre, unless they want to pay me a daily rate of £150

I would rather paint above every 2 yrs ( if I invested in decent extraction ) than clean tiles every month.....If I wanted to make it tiling to be easier to clean, then only clean it every 2yrs, then its a poor investment.....
