HI James,
Yes pour it into place and leave it to do it's magic for a few mins. Then trowel it up, this shocks it into place and after wiggling tile into position, it becomes live again and fills the whole back of the tile...Gaz

Re: pourable adhesive
White or grey?
Just used white and it doesn't need to sit (says so on the label) grey does. although, as I have just found out it is a good idea to make a border so that the adhesive can't flow past the area you are trying to tile. It pours therefore it runs! I ended up having to back butter after the tiles had dropped 3 mm.

It's critical to mix the adhesive to exact water proportions Ed, you may have had it a tad too runny....a Bal mixing bucket gives the correct amount per bag....Gaz

Re: pourable adhesive
Seems recently that grouts and adhesive are a precise water content for mixing than ever before

Re: pourable adhesive
cheers gaz, does it just take away the need to back butter or is it actually partially levelling the subfloor, then the spreading is to fix?

Re: pourable adhesive
Hi Gaz
I was using BAL mixing buckets(got them from Bristol Gaz for nufink-thanks for correcting me
), problem was that I could only set 1 tile at a time because of the depth of addy-I was going from 15mm to 25mm deep setting 610x45mmx12mm strips and back buttering them when they dropped, very uneven floor. whatever I did in the mix there was always a bit of drop. I had to use 'feel' for the right amount of water versus addy(but always thinking off the 4 second rule) as I would have wasted lots if I mixed 20 kg at a time with 20mins usage time(a couple of tiles took 10 mins each to fix and set and didn't want 10kg going off at £20 a pop). But once i figured out what I needed, as usual PTB flexy came up trumps. all of the jobs I have had recently have been challenging to say the least but BAL and, I have to say Mapei, have made things easier not least cos they do what they say they will on the tin.
