Just wondering how many different ways there are out there to mark out a curve in a tile, for example a shower tray, personally I always have an old roll of wallpaper and cut out a tile from it then mark the curve, transfer it and then cut. I would be interested to find out how you all go about it??
its hard to explain, but i cut the tiles to the nearest size , then sit tile in situ and mark with pencil and suitable size packer and scribe, then i cut the curve with my grinder its easier than nibbling...
If they have to be perfect, then templates are the only way to go.
If they are hidden, like a toilet flange I use a marker and square and freehand the curve which I slot cut on the wet saw and nibble it clean.
After a few hundred of those you get pretty good at eyeballing things.
For template work I use these Japanese pump markers as they show up through the water spray and don't wash off.
All I have to do is cut off all the color and wa-la, it fits nicely.
Here is a template design I put in a niche which matchs the clients front door glass pattern.

Nice work mate!! Where do you buy these Jap pump markers?
Pentel Maxiflo permanent marker NLM50.
get them at any good drafting supply shop.
As with most markers the tiles need to be dry and no dust.
If they are dusty the marker nib gets all packed up.
