tiling above an aga!!!
hi there
late notice as job starts in about 8 hours, but i am tiling above an aga tomorrow. aga has been off for two days, and will stay off for at least 3 days after ifinish
design is two chickens on hand painted tiles either side of the flu.
thing i want to know is, should i use any special addy and grout in this area? the heat will not be mentally hot, but will be constant!!
any of your guys experience would be gratefully appreciated

I've used both, Tubbed and powdered and really hav'nt had any problems

Only ever did one and they were mosaics so I used Bal Mosaic Fix

Ive done a few used cement based flexi.
Be prepared to feel a tad warm, even with the heat turned right down!!

flexi adhesive and flexi grout then?

Just use flexi, its more advisable both by the proffesionals and on spec Id say

I've used tubbed no problem. The only hassle was they didn't shut the aga off as requested. Even with the covers down my dustsheets got burnt & forget the 'tad warm' comment, I sweated off a couple of pounds & had to 'grout & wipe off' in small areas due to the heat. I was a real old style aga.

have used both powdered and pre mixed and no prb but to be on the safe side why not check with gaz tec i know he is on!!! you know what our culture is like nowadys

used nanolite on mine sandstone strips grouted in sand & cement didnt turn it down its always hot lol

Have used both without problem, but guess the best way forward is SPF and flexi grout. Keep checking the dust sheets arent burning as already posted!
