Re: Kitchen cabinets..
Can you get him to adjust the units so that they are level prior to you tiling, most have height adjustable legs and are only screwed to the wall, it wouldnt be that bigger job i shouldnt imagine.

Re: Kitchen cabinets..
if he can't or wont level them(explain that it will look really bad cause of all the level lines you will be putting in, have done this once for a customer and never again they were happy but i could 'nt bear to put my name to it).
there used to be a product available that is available from most kitchen suppliers that was a plastic kitchen seal(avail in all colours at one time was dead fashionable) you tack a strip of plastic in place on the worktop then press the finished piece in to it (rubber seals on top and bottom).
this will help cover the slivers of tile at the worktop

Re: Kitchen cabinets..
It's the cabinets on the wall (sorry for not making myself clear on this matter) that have the differents because of the boiler, i know this isnt normal but instead of just the splashbacks he wants the tiles to run level with the tops of the wall cabinets and then continue tiling the walls at the same level, the cabinets are on opposite walls so wall three and four will be tiled almost completely, it's abit differcult to explain hope you see what i mean now thanks

Re: Kitchen cabinets..
If you put tiles up starting from a surface that is crooked, then the lines will all be out of kilter.
If he understands that and still wants you to do it and is unwilling to do any corrective work, get it in writing and go ahead.
If the tiles are large, then make your level line starting at the lowest point and cut the taper off the bottom.
In fact, advise him strongly to use a large format tile as you can work things to your advantage that way.
Hard to advise without seeing the situation.
A shame to have to do such things.

Re: Kitchen cabinets..
Cant you incorperate a mosic border around the line that is unlevel, say if it's one inch out across the two walls then incorperate say a 3" 3 x mosiac high border down to a 2" 2 x mosiac high border, EG lose a row from the mosiacs, which wont be as noticable. That way your level will still be there with no slanting.
If you see what i mean, by loosing a row or 1" of mosaics there wont be any sloping?
