Advice Needed Please
Hi Everyone. I have been asked by a potential customer to tile what he would describe as a conservatory floor. He has built an extension to his house on top of his old driveway and thus inside now he has 3 x 2 flags down on the floor area to be tiled. He says that the 3 x 2 fllags have been down over 10 years and he has driven his car on and off them during this time without any movement in the flags. The flags are laid on grit sand only and he is asking me to tile directly onto the flags. I have never done or heard of this being done before and recommended him to remove the flags and put down a concrete screed to tile onto. What would you guys recommend as he insists that I tile directly onto the flags!! Any advice greatly appreciated as always. Geoff (Tilestiles)

Re: Advice Needed Please
I would only tile with a propper solid base, and not a load of loose flags on sand.

Re: Advice Needed Please
Already told him that MZ. I am very reluctant to do it though as it seems wrong to me and I like to guarantee my work. Told him to think about putting the floor right first and then I would be happy to tile it.
