Mirror inlay
Hi, going to see a customer when I come back from my hols in a couple of weeks time , wanting bathroom tiled she is looking to get a mirror inlaid in the tiles which I have never done before (still tiling part time, still very much at the learning stage ) any one had to do this before & got any tips.
Cheers Ian

Re: Mirror inlay
Tile the walls and if they want a border do that too, then measure the opening and get a mirror from a glass shop cut and smoothed to size.

Re: Mirror inlay
Thanks for the quick reply Sir Ramic , whats the best way to attach the mirror to the wall after you have tiled ?

Re: Mirror inlay
I prefer mirror screws myself, Some like to use adhesive but then what happens if it needs removing at a later date ?

If they do not want screws, which a fair percentage don't, then wherever you buy the mirror from, will be able to supply you with a silicone to fix it.
DO NOT USE STANDARD SILICONE.
The silicone used to stick mirrors up is a different kind from what you'd be used to using.
The standard gear rots the backing of the mirror.

Re: Mirror inlay
I have one to put up this week too,
i tiled the bathroom 2 weeks ago and left gap for mirror and surrounded the inside with mosaics to match borders.I then measured opening and left 2mm clearance all round and gave the customer the size of mirror to get, back to do her ensuite this week and will fit the mirror, gripfill or tech7 possibly but i'll wait and see if anything is supplied.
