tiles on concrete

I have a bathroom in a 60's extension that has a concrete floor. The room was built using an old stone wall so there has been damp in that wall due to loss of render on the outside. This has been fixed. We've never had a problem with the floor until we had a vinyl flooring put down this year. After a while it came loose in places and the people who put it down said the concrete was 'sweating'. I assume moisture is being drawn up and would normally evaporate. I don't know about any damp proofing in this extension. I would like to remove the vinyl and put down tiles. Are there any which would allow moisture to pass through rather than collect underneath? Any further advice would also be appreciated.

Concrete is a very porous material and water will wick its way through if it is there.
One way to stop this problem is to use a concrete densifier which is a silicate based clear liquid which is applied to the concrete when dry.
It soaks into the pores and reacts with the calcium in the portland and crystallizes rendering the concrete impermeable.
Used to be called waterglass and was used to treat wells and cisterns, now it has been modified by various companies and there are lots of good products to be found.
In NA there is a company called L&M which makes a good densifier.
There should be a concrete supply company which could help you out.
