Unhappy To remove very hard adhesive from floorboards

I am intending retiling my floor in the bathroom. Have just taken up the marble ones which has left very solid adhesive to remove. Is there a relatively cheap tool I can get to help me, my ands are full of blisters, now.

Taking adhesive off floorboards isn't as easy as off screed/concrete. If you had concrete I would have suggested an SDS drill with chisel attachment, but as you have floorboards, it may do a lot of damage. No real alternative but to carefully use a hammer and chisel where you can and then a scraper for the rest.

Either that or cut out the floor boards and put new down. What about levelling it with levelling compound, do you have space for this. Also why did you remove the marble in the first place, were you having problems with cracking etc?

Maybe other guys on here will have better ideas.

wet the adhesive and let the water soak in to it for around 10 mins, then use ahammer and bolster and i guarantee you it will come off a hell of a lot easier.

what about our old friend - the steam wall paper stripper? I have never used it to remove adhesive but on the odd ocassion I got carried away stripping walls and left it too long in one spot - it removed previously sound plaster with ease

    If all else fails

If it is thinset a stucco rasp made from tungsten carbide works really well, plus the wetting down trick keeps the dust down.
