Take the toilet out if possible and tile underneath. If not you will have to cut around the toilet by making a template of some sort, transfer the pattern to the tiles and cut/nip them to shape.

The best thing to do m8 is take the wc and the sink out ,tile then replace .IT MAKES LIFE SO MUCH EASIER.However if you decide to tile with pottery still in place then its best to quarter the pan and pedestal. To do this you use four tiles and cut around the pottery, use a paper template the same size as the tile and trace around each quarter, transfer this to the tile, scribe the tile, finger cut the tile to the line and nip the fingers off with tile nippers. If it was me i would take the pottery out.....Bri

I dry lay the full tiles and then use paper to scribe the cuts around the toilet or bed the full tiles then do your cuts but you will to wait until the addy sets

The hight difference once the tiles are laid maybe a problem but you could change the waste connection

Would I have to pay the plumber or would the customer? If me, how much would the normally charge?

probably around £100 for plumber. Why dont you google 'fitting a bathroom suite' you will get good links from that m8.If you are unsure then its best to get a plumber in to remove it.

Let the customer pay for it, Just give them the option. Not sure how much the connecter would be, Say about half an hour to fix max

1, remove pan and pedestal. It makes for a perfect job.
2, If the screws to the pan are rusted etc or if its very old then it may not be wise to try and remove the items as you could cause damage. If you break either item due to its age or damage before the job starts you will have to replace the items. But then at least they will be out.
3, the easiest way to cut around obstacles like this for a newby is to make templates as described above.

my pet hate (well one of them) is cutting around sanitaryware
