Other services you offer aswell as tiling?

Hi Folks

Just wandered what other services you offer aswell as tiling to bring in cash if things are quiet,

Ive been out of tiling for a few months but like it to mutch so thinking of starting again but want to offer other services aswell
ive been thinking of offering patterned Flex-cement floors and internal walls heres a link to FLex-cement what do you think?

or else UPVC cladding or maybe even do training in bathroom installation

Certainly, adding extra trades to your belt can be priceless to the right trader. I'd perhaps incorporate more related trades, so Plumbing Courses from Chase Plumbing Academy and Plastering Courses - Plastering Course - School, Intensive perhaps?

Loads of the lads on here will do bathroom fitting and kitchen fitting and related trades.

Though sometimes if you think about it, you can utilise the work you get from calling yourself a 'bathroom fitter' and then get other trades in to do the bits you don't do, then perhaps they would / could send you work your way that they think you could do better / in a better time.

So it's a debatable subject IMO.

I have a mate who manufactures window blinds so when I quote for bathrooms I offer a free window blind. At trade price they are quite cheap so can cost it into the job. The customer likes the facts that they are getting something free to finish off the appearance of the bathroom. A lot of the time this results in them asking us to quote for blinds for other rooms.

I can do basic joinery and yes, I have built some roofs, garages mainly, but I have to hold my hand up and say that I am NO joiner.
If I could go back 15 years I would have served my time as a joiner.

Tiling, stone floor cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning, tree surgery ( fully trained tree climber) tree stump grinding, mini digger hire, compact tractor hire, fencing, chemical spraying, (weeds etc fully trained), tree planting during the winter i specialize in planting trees 10 metres tall for instant screening, wild flower meadow creations ( me and another guy do this together)...umm what else are yes my wife and i run a house letting agency, and i buy property to refurbish to rent out. You should see the size of my buisness card

When the need arises I can work on the packing line all day welding and sealing clam shells.



And when I make packing errors I do tell myself off and dock my own pay.

Yes I would do a calander but I think I have made an error. have you noticed that our girls seem to wear LESS CLOTHING when they are NOT working for me - than when they are.....



A lot of people who were at Tile & Stone show were tutting and muttering about how skimpy the 365drills pilot girls outfits were. But hang on. When they go out on their own then its LESS.

Mind you the guys on the RUBI stand didnt seem to mind. From what I could see they were quite happy with the status.

You have to look at the solution not the problem richard, , in this case it's simple...

Obvioulsy you want good lighting for photo's of your product, the sea in say tenerife reflects the light beutifully, so would be a great location for the product photo shoot.

Now obviously you dont want the pilot uniforms getting ruined by the girls wearing them in the sea, so a comprimise would have to be made, and the girls given bikini's to wear instead.

They could still wear the hats to maintain the pilot image, and possible having a plane flying by in the background.

I am City & Guilds qualified plumber (4 year apprenticeship) C&G qualified approved electrician (5 year college) C&G electronics servicing (2 years college) OFTEC qualified to 101, 105E, 107, 600A (Installation, commissioning and servicing of oil boilers and tanks) Bpec unvented certificate and RSA typing Grade 1.

I also own and drive a JCB, do TIG, MIG and MMA welding, painting, basic carpentry, rendering, blocklaying and have been known to do the odd bit of tiling when I have a spare minute.

I design and fit quite a few bathrooms and am able to do everything except skimming, the last significant one that I completed has a few snaps in my album.

bliddy hell how does some of you guys fit in any tiling ?? i only tile , screed and prep walls and floors, i use joiners plumbers and sparks when needed and these guys fling work back.. altho i could be persuaded to act as a chaperone to marks ladies!!
