Pricing advice
Have just been to price a job, it’s in a children’s nursery just round the corner from where I live and they want me to work when the kids are not there i.e. night's and or weekends, I was wondering what you guys thought as to whether to adjust the price for working at those times or not, just to complicate matters it is for a friend of my other half, I would like to do the job as it is good advertising with all the yummy mummy's wandering around! The job is split into three:
1: Is relatively straight forward about 4m/2 tiling around two tiny sinks, but I need to strip the paper off the walls and seal before tiling, ceramic tiles
2: Is a bit of a pain in the arris it involves removing a few existing tiles, scoring painted walls, tiling 2 sinks set back to back to each other with a plinth in the middle that wants tiling, underneath one side of one sink has to be tiled(with about 10inches to work in)walls to the sides of both sinks also want tiling(different heights)with plastic trim on all edges, it’s about 5m/2 in total but would involve some faffing about, any suggestions about price to give? Ceramic tiles to be used.
3: Is a toilet wall about 4.8m/2 painted again with a sink to tile around and pipes to play around with.Ceramic tiles.
Any suggestions on price would be a big help

Re: Pricing advice
SOunds like a day rate job to me, whatever you have for that x the number of days it will take you.
We try not to discuss pricing in this part of the forum as it is open to the public gaze and can compromise the pros if the public try to use the info gleaned as ammunition, if you know what I mean.
If you are a pro, drop Dan or Dave a PM and give details of your business etc and see if they will open up the Pros bit for you.

Re: Pricing advice
Beat me to it, Grumpy. A job like that for a friend is always going to be daywork. If they insist on a price, it indicates that they are not a good friend and are therefore charged normal rates.
