Hi chaps, my best customer has just given me a couple of unusual jobs to do and I'd be interested in any recommendations and advice you might have. Job 1; Tiling approx 2.5 sq mtrs of a shop front, below window level to pavement. customer supplying tiles (Homebase finest approx 300 x 100) and wants them placed vertically in a soldier course pattern. I've persuaded him not to use Homebase adhesive as I prefer Mapei and am thinking Kerabond / Keraflex? Not sure what primer though, any thoughts? Substrate is painted render over brick. Paint I guess will need to be removed. Job 2; In another of his Hairdressing salons the floor is tiled with glazed black tiles (London Black I think) The staff have complained of the floor being too slippery and one person has already had a fall. As they are obviously concerned someone will get hurt and of potential claims I have been charged with coming up with a solution. My research so far has led me to something called micro-etching. Have any of you had experience of this? Dose anyone know of any chemicals to do this or coatings that could be applied to give the floor more grip? Justin, if you send Highlander a pm, he has a sideline which will sort out the floor tiles, he has done plenty of anti-slip jobs.....Gaz | ||
