    could any tell me how to check for true flatness on a freshly plastered wall and if any inperfections what to do to sort out

    A freshly plastered wall should be quite flat anyway, you could always hold your sprit level against it to check for true flatness, but don't forget you would be advised not to tile to a freshly plastered wall for 4 weeks.
    SPEED MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT QUALITY....

    A straight edge or six foot level and place on the wall, It should,nt deviate 3mm in every 2mL. Any lumps or bumps scrape away with a surform. That why I use powdered addy gives the option to build up while putting tiles on.

    If fixing a tile and you need to put extra addy on to the back of the tile to keep it flush with it,s neighbour, To pack out.

    A surform comes in large or small sizes with a replacment flat blade, for smoothing plasterboard edges from B&Q and any good diy shed yellow in colour. That was a tough one
