Bathroom fitter / tiler in the N London area?
Hi there,
I joined this forum 'cos I was thinking of doing my bathroom fitting + tiling job myself, but I've realised it's probably a bit too much for me to do - both in terms of skills and time.
So, I wondered if you guys could help me out with any recommendations of fitters / tilers in the North London area? I'd supply the suite and the floor / wall tiles.
I've already had a quote of £4400+VAT for this (which I thought was a bit high - would appreciate any comments on that too)
Here's what I need done (room size approx 3m x 2.5m x 2.5m high):
Installation of new bathroom suite
Remove and dispose existing bath, toilet, sink and laminate flooring
Level and stabilise flooring (currently floorboards onto joists). I guess either replace with WBP / Chipboard with ply overboard
Install wall-mounted sink (to brick wall with bolts)
Install new bath
Install wall-mounted shower taps (including channelling pipework into wall and plastering)
Install above-bath shower
Install shower screen
Tile floor with large smooth floor tiles.
Install back-to-wall toilet, with hidden cistern.
Build new boxed-in section, wall to ceiling behind back-to-wall toilet (in alcove) - including 2 x cupboards above (1 for storage, 1 for wall-mounted boiler)
Build new cupboard to house washing machine / tumble drier.
Tile whole room to 1.5m with mosaic tiles (plus bath area to ceiling) (including bath panel)
Paint and finish rest of room
Thanks in advance

dont think that price is too bad mate. seems like a lot of work with cupboards to build etc. if you are looking for someone try findtrustedtradesman.co.uk should be somone in your area. bit too far for me to travel. hope you get sorted and anymore questions just ask

seems a reasonable price, might be worth looking for someone who is not vat reg, to save a few pounds that way, are you supplying all the materials -the adhesive + grout? if so 4000 would be a fair price without the vat. i,m from s-wales and would consider the job, would need to take a look first just to see, i,m a tiler and my partern is the plumber + lecy and we (Elegant Tiling) specialise in complete bathroom and wetroom installation so its right up my path, however accomodation in london is not the cheapest, which is my only concern. good luck thou and hopefully you'll get the job done to a high standard soon...
