customer strange looks
went to quote a job (just before i go on holiday on tuesday) in manchester they were porcelain floor tiles roughly 60x30 matt finish porcelain tiles anyway i got there went through all the normal stuff and i did the test to see if they needed sealing so i ask if he had any tomato sauce he said yes why so i put a little bit of tomato sauce on the tile anyway they didnt stain.
the look he gave me when i was doing it was hilarious

Re: customer strange looks
Is that really enough to get a stain in such a short period of time though ?
Does the box not say polished or glazed ?

Re: customer strange looks
glazed i think he only had the 1 tile (sample) he doesnt want to pay for the sealer
i left the ketchup on the tile, i suppose if i get the job he will tell me whether the tile has stained

Re: customer strange looks

Re: customer strange looks
Well it won't stain if it's glazed, only if it's polished.

Re: customer strange looks
thats what i thought butive heard a few people on here say they seal everything apart from ceramic
i thought i best check anyway

Re: customer strange looks
The glaze acts as a barrier, and as far as Im aware no sealer can get through the glaze to seal a glazed tile.

Re: customer strange looks
Forget Tomato sauce - You should try some of my local curry sauce.
I had a takeaway delivery and the sauce stained my white zodiac counter top yellow. Permanently.
I'm now thinking of rebranding the sauce and selling it to the tile industry as a testing kit for tile staining.
Chicken Tikka Balti.

I tried some reggae reggae sauce from your good friend's (the den) investment - and I'm sure when Levis Root was selling it to the den he said it wasn't hot!!!!! What a lie! It's roasting!!!!
